Husband arrested for the death of a California woman

Authorities say a woman’s husband was found dead in a burned house in San Marino, which has been arrested.
Firefighters found the body of 56-year-old Irene Gaw-Lai after extinguishing a residential fire in the 2600 block of Lolan Road on the morning of January 6, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials said there were signs of physical trauma on the upper body and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives began investigating the death as a homicide.
Almost six months later, he has been arrested. Her husband, Yoon Lai, 63, was detained in the city of San Gabriel on Thursday, according to the sheriff’s department.
Lai holds a no-bail order and the sheriff’s department intends to file a case with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday.
