14 people died in flooding, Vietnam’s Dien Bien is missing

Hanoi (Reuters) – At least 14 people died or disappeared from the northern northern Vietnam, state media reported last Friday.
The flood rose rapidly on Thursday night after hours of heavy rain, flooding houses in low-lying areas and causing mountain flooding and mudslides in mountainous areas of the province, according to the Tien Phong newspaper.
The report said the mountain village of XA Dung suffered the worst casualties, one person died and six people were missing.
Transport and power lines in several areas of the province have been cut off due to flooding, according to a statement from the provincial people’s committee.
The two children in the hanging Push village were buried in a mudslide and rescuers have not found their bodies, the statement said.
Media reports say heavy rain in the province is hindering the search for missing places.
