IDF undermines over 130 HAMAS targets during weekend operations in Gaza

The military announced on Saturday that IDF’s ground and air forces attacked more than 130 HAMAS positions in the north, central and southern Gaza over the weekend, killing a senior Hamas field commander and tearing down extensive underground infrastructure.
In addition, an air strike in the Gaza Strip on July 24, 2025 killed Salah al-Din Za’atra, deputy commander of the Al-Furqan Battalion of Hamas. Za’atra oversees combat support operations and plans to launch attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers, military officials said.
Strong operation reportedly in northern and central Gaza. It was reported that troops of the 99th Division Nahar Brigade discovered several tunnel axes and killed several gunmen with tank fires.
A few kilometers northwards, the reconnaissance team of the 401st Brigade of the 162nd Division observed four Hamas fighters heading towards the IDF line and directed an aircraft that crashed and killed them a moment later.
The battle also broke out in the south. There, the Army said, belonging to the Gaza Division (143) and the 36th Division methodically demolished the tunnels, as well as the buildings used by the Army as a rocket shop.

Several other attackers were killed during close combat as troops advanced through densely built communities.
IDF operations in collaboration with Shin Bet
The IDF added that the weekend’s operations were based on real-time intelligence provided by the IDF Intelligence Agency and the Israel Security Agency (Shin BET).
The commanders said their troops “continue to reduce Hamas’ military capabilities” and expanded searches for networks of tunnels believed to extend to residential areas.
