IMD sends out thunderstorms, hail alert across 10 states; lightning risk is imminent

IMD Weather News:The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a severe thunderstorm, accompanied by cloud-to-ground lightning and hail activity in several parts of the country. As the weather system continues to move eastward, residents in affected areas take safety precautions.

According to IMD's latest post on X, Thunderstorm Belt is currently active in East Rajasthan, all over the West and East Madya, Vidarbha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jharkhand, Odisha, Odisha, Bihar, and is now approaching Gangetic West begetic West Bengal. In parts of the mountainous regions of Himaal Pradesh and West Bengal and Sikkim, wind gusts of 40-50 kmph are expected. Meanwhile, heavy rain is predicted in isolated places in Odisha and South Karnataka.

The Vidarbha area of ​​Maharashtra is also on alert. The IMD NAGPUR Center warns of thunderstorms and lightning, gusts, gusts (up to 50 kmph), as well as rainfall in the Gundia, Bandara, Nagpur and Wardda areas. Similar consultations were sent for Amravati, Yavatmal, Washim and Chandrapur, where winds could reach 40 kmph.

Record rainfall in Delhi

IMD has advised people, especially in vulnerable areas, to avoid avoiding open spaces during lightning and staying indoors during intense weather activities.
