India-Parker Conflict: Are schools in your area open or closed today?

As tensions escalate between India and Pakistan, several states and trade union territories have taken precautions, including closing educational institutions to ensure students’ safety. India has launched a rapid strike against several Pakistani cities in Pakistan, retaliating and drone attacks on attempted drone attacks by Pakistan in Jamu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Chandigarh.
Although no national directive has been issued, local governments exercise discretion in accordance with their proximity to conflict zones.
As of May 10, what is the latest?
Delhi-NCR status
Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Gazabad: No official holiday announcement. As of now, schools and universities are functioning properly, although some have reportedly held online courses at their discretion.
Gurgaon (Gururam): The school remains closed today on May 10. The school notified parents later last night.
Jamuk and Kashmir
All schools, colleges and universities will be closed on May 10.
Punjab
All educational institutions have three-day closures (May 9, 10, 11) valid. This includes all government, private and auxiliary schools and colleges.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains confirmed the order on social media platform X.
Chandigarh
Schools are closed until Saturday.
Panjab University has postponed its scheduled exams on May 9, 10 and 12 indefinitely.
Haryana
Schools across Panchkula and statewide (including Gurugram) will be closed on May 10.
Rajasthan
Schools are closed in five key border areas:
Sri Ganganagar
- Bikaner
- Jodbur
- Jaisalmer
- Bamer
Ladakh
The school was closed until May 10.
While some teachers and administrators suggest agencies can make up for the closure by working in the coming weekends, no official decision has been made on this.
