Ballas and Jean have met through mutual friends since 2012. He proposed to get married a year later in 2015.

Musicians Ballas and Jean expanded their family in 2023. Jean gave birth to his son Banksi Wylde in November 2023. Banski is the couple’s rainbow baby, who had previously suffered a miscarriage in 2022.
