Israel strike kills at least 36

Local health officials said the Israeli strike killed at least 36 Palestinians at multiple locations in Gaza on Monday, amid a worsening Israeli humanitarian crisis in the territory, which eased aid restrictions.

According to Nasser Hospital, the deceased included a newborn whose mother died in a strike seven months and was sent to a complicated procedure.

Israel announced on Sunday that the military will stay in Gaza city, Deir Al-Balah and Muwasi for 10 hours a day until further notice to improve the aid flow for Palestinians in Gaza, where fears about hunger have increased and a safe route for aid delivery has been designated.

Israel said it would continue its military operations along with new humanitarian measures. Israeli military did not immediately comment on the latest strike, which took place outside the time frame announced by Israel and will be held between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Aid agencies welcome the new aid measures, which also include allowing aircraft to enter Gaza, but said they are not enough to cope with the rising feeling of hunger in the Palestinian territory.

Images of thin children have sparked anger around the world, including close allies from Israel. U.S. President Donald Trump called the image of thin and malnourished children in Gaza “terrible” on Sunday.

Throughout the conflict, Israel restricted varying degrees of aid. In March, it cut off all commodities, including fuel, food and medicine, to put pressure on Hamas to free hostages.

Israel partially lifted these restrictions in May, but also promoted a new U.S.-backed aid delivery system caused by chaos and violence. Traditional aid providers also encountered similar collapses in the law and order surrounding their aid delivery.

Now, most of Gaza’s population is now dependent on aid. Access to food has become a challenge for some Palestinians to risk their lives.

AWDA Hospital in central Gaza said it received the bodies of seven Palestinians, which was killed by Israeli fire on Monday, approaching a distribution location for aid from the U.S. and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The hospital said another 20 people were injured near the site. GHF did not immediately respond to a request for comment.


The pregnant woman and her child were killed along with 11 others in the southern city of Khan Yunis, according to a hospital in the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Nasser Hospital said another strike attacked two-story houses in Khan Younis in western Japan, killing at least 11 people, more than half of them women and children. At least five people died during strikes elsewhere in Gaza, according to local hospitals.

The Israeli military did not immediately respond to requests for comment on most strikes. It said the city of Gaza was not aware of a strike in Gaza during a pause when health officials said they were killed.

In the October 7, 2023 attack, Hamas killed 1,200 people and occupied 251 hostages. It still has 50 more than half of Israel believe death.

According to Gaza Hamas-Ministry of Operations, Israel’s retaliatory offensive has killed more than 59,800 Palestinians. Its number does not distinguish between militants and civilians, but the ministry said more than half of the dead were women and children. The ministry operates under the leadership of the Hamas government. The United Nations and other international organizations regard it as the most reliable source of data for casualties.
