itch.io starts reindexing free NSFW content

Digital Storefront Itch.io is reindexing its free adult games and is discussing plans to gradually reintroduce paid NSFW content with partner payment processors. The company said the decision will ensure that “the widest range of creators can be confidently supported in the long run.”
itch.io instructs developers and creators who want to return the game to the store to check a “No Payment” box located in the pricing section of the game editing page. It added that any game that uses “separate price files” will convert these files into free content by checking the box. The company has also introduced a new content warning system for NSFW-tagged pages, which says all page owners must update accordingly before reindex.
itch.io said it has spoken with its long-term payment processor (Stripe) about its policies on explicit adult content and said it will no longer be able to pay through the platform as a game that is considered “designed for sexual satisfaction.” This is due to the new restrictions imposed by Stripe’s banking partners. Stripe said in its inclusion in the iTch.io update that it has not closed the possibility of being able to support adult content again in the future. Meanwhile, itch.io said it is talking with other payment partners about accepting card payment stripes no longer being able to process them now.
The future of adult content on iTch.io seems uncertain. Just in accordance with the new payment processor policy, all NSFW games on the platform are excluded and hidden. Sudden and frustrating rules and itch.io introduced a basis for conforming to these payment processors, resulting in unjust casualties. This week, solo developer Cara Cadaver told her about the game, Evil: Excavation,,,,, The description she said was inaccurate and was therefore removed from the steam and banned by the steam. Evil: Excavation It is a mostly text-based game and received very well in the preview Six independentsMay’s review. Steam’s decision to delete the game does not meet the appeal.
