Ivan Ivanov won the men’s singles match of the U.S. Open after a row of defeats Alexander Vasilev on Saturday.

Ivan Ivanov won his second straight title by defeating Bulgarian Alexander Vasilev 7-5, 6-3 in the U.S. Open final.

The 16-year-old turned five of his nine breakout points into five and won 19 winners in 74 minutes. The No. 1 seed saved two of his four breakout points in the fifth seed opponent.

He’s starting to put more pressure on me, and I really feel it.” “I’m trying to escape, I’m trying to make these moments as short as possible, and I’m glad [about] Today, because I managed to do it very short. At 5-All, I managed to back off and then send the serve. So I’m very satisfied with that. ”
Ivanov became the third boy of the century, winning Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the same season, joining country men Grigor Dimitrov and Filip Peliwo. This is the special purpose of his major campaign, in which he rose to No. 1 in the ITF teenager rankings.
“I mean, look at this city. Sometimes we’re in a huge stadium, we’re in a huge city,” Ivanov said. “Crowds, people, organizations, it’s everything that makes the game unique.”
