Milos Raonic announced his retirement on social media on Monday after a stellar career that saw him reach third place in the PIF ATP Rankings.
“The time has come for me to retire from tennis. You know this moment will come one day, but somehow you are never prepared for it. I am ready. Tennis has been my love and obsession for most of my life,” the 35-year-old wrote on X.
“I’m the luckiest person to be able to live out my dreams and achieve my dreams. I have to show up every day and focus on getting better and see where that takes me and play a game that I was completely blessed to be exposed to at the age of 8. Somehow it became my entire obsession and childhood and then my career and life.”
It’s time for me to retire from tennis. You knew this moment would come one day, but somehow you were never ready for it. I am ready. Tennis has been my love and obsession for most of my life.
I’m the luckiest person to be alive out there…
