Jannik Sinner pulled off a double-double victory at the Rolex Paris Masters on Sunday, winning his fifth ATP Masters 1000 title and marking his return to No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings.

The 24-year-old Italian displayed his trademark composure and precision to defeat a spirited Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 7-6(4) in the final to secure his first title at the French ATP Masters 1000 event. With his flawless performance in Paris, Sinner became the first player since Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells in 2023 to win the title without dropping a set at this level, while also extending his indoor winning streak to 26 matches.

In addition to ensuring his return to world No. 1 on Monday, Sinner also stepped up his bid for the ATP year-end No. 1 honor awarded by the PIF. He now trails Alcaraz by just 1,050 points at the PIF ATP Live Event in Turin, ensuring their battle will be decided at the Nitto ATP Finals, where Sinner is the defending champion.

Auger-Aliassime’s impressive run to his second ATP Masters 1000 final significantly boosts his chances of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals. The Canadian climbed to eighth place in the live event, 160 points ahead of Lorenzo Musetti, and will look to secure his spot at next week’s ATP 250 event in Metz.

Although Auger-Aliassime struggled in a tight second set, Sinner eventually secured his fourth tour-level title of the season with a super-clean tiebreak. Sinner now leads their Lexus ATP Head2Head series 3-2 following wins over the Canadians at Cincinnati and the US Open this year.
