Novak Djokovic collided with world No. 2 semifinals and defending champion Jannik Sinner after the release of the Rolex Shanghai Masters on Monday.
Djokovic fell to the Italian in the semifinals between Roland Garros and Wimbledon this season, and it was the first time since losing to Carlos Alcaraz of the U.S. Open semifinals.

The fourth seed Serb and four-time Shanghai champion will play the winners of Frenchmen Corentin Moutet and Marin Cilic in his debut match. He met Frances Tiafoe in the third round, and Andrey Rublev, Ben Shelton or Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals in the fourth round.
Djokovic is ranked fourth in the PIF ATP rankings, which is 31-11 in all four Grand Slam semifinals this season.
Sinner led Djokovic 6-4 in the Lexus ATP Head2head series and defeated the 40-time ATP Masters 1000 title in the Shanghai final last year, against Germany’s Daniel Altmaier or the qualifiers. The former was meeting Tallon Griekspoor in the third round, and Alexander Bublik met Taylor Fritz or Holger Rune in the fourth round.
In the first half, world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz was seeded in the semifinals with Alexander Zverev. But first, he will focus on opening competitions with American teen learners Tien and Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic. He met Cameron Norrie in the third round, Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round and Alex de Minaur or Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals.
Zverev leads the second quarter of the raffle and opens with the qualifiers or Argentina Mariano Navone.
The main draw begins on Wednesday. The final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 12.
