Several former Biden officials and staff have opposed former white House secretary Karine Jean Pierre’s announcement that she will become independent after serving in the Democratic administration, which is along with the book announcement.
“Everyone thinks it’s a stubborn person,” a former official told Politico.
Jean-Pierre announced Wednesday that her new book, Independence: The Broken White House Look Outside the Party Line, will be released in October.
“She is the public face, telling us that this White House is already orderly and Biden is great. Now she doesn’t even want to be a Democrat??” a former Biden White House official told the media. “She is making herself the middle ground here when Republicans hate her. She doesn’t have any position to be the connector to our two party systems and assume she might just be self.”

“It’s hard to believe that someone can look at the past year and really think, ‘That’s why I left the Democratic Party,” a former senior spokesman for the Biden administration told Axios.
“When you are not only enjoying the allowance of extreme proximity to power, you can position yourself as the arrogance of an outsider…and already waving it from the largest podium there, and both desperately but desperately…it’s hard to see it’s a weird cash rush, but another white house official told other house officials.”
“She joked that she was an independent person last year and now is a book. All ideas are currency, even stupid ideas,” a former Jean-Pierre staffer told Politico.
Politico reported that PR officer Gilda Squire worked with Jean-Pierre while at the White House and was included in multiple official emails until her employees said it was a problem and raised the issue in the White House lawyer’s office. The media pointed out that Jean-Pierre is also a flood of Vogue’s theme in addition to women’s health. The former press secretary personally and the White House “view” when he was working as press secretary also appeared on the “view”.

Axios reporter Alex Thompson asked Squire about Jean-Pierre in February 2024, and the PR staff said none of this was true. “However, internal White House emails Axios later obtained indicated that Squire was copied in emails related to Jean-Pierre’s publicity efforts. The messages included a September 2023 email describing the plans for the Vogue magazine profile,” Thompson reported on Thursday.
Jeremy Edwards, former staff member of Jean-Pierre, responded to the book announcement on X.
“Lol,” Edwards wrote.
“Today, Karin lost the only constituency that supports her – party Democrats,” another White House communications official told Axios.

White House reporters who reported the Biden administration also criticized Jean Pierre’s announcement.
“Did she find the manuscript of that fat binder she was walking around? If I were a historian who wrote about the Biden White House, I wouldn’t ignore what Carrien had to say, but it’s not about investing a lot of weight, like her briefing,” a White House reporter told Fox News figures.
Another White House reporter told Fox News numbers that they “shocked” Jean-Pierre leaving the Democratic Party.
“I had to pick up my chin from the floor. It was incredible that she would choose this path among everyone.”

Senior Democratic operator Jean-Pierre, who also worked on the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign and served as a spokeswoman for the left-wing advocacy group, said in an Instagram post that the book is not always on a “partisan position.”
When faced with the issue of the president’s decline, Jean-Pierre repeatedly defended Biden, even mocking his ability to serve him in 2024 in a 2022 interview.
Jean-Pierre’s PR staff did not immediately return a request for comment.
