Jim Irsay dies at 65: Indianapolis Colts owner dies

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay Died at the age of 65.
The NFL team shared Irsay’s “Death in Peace in Sleep this afternoon” through its social media account Wednesday, May 21.
“We are announcing our beloved owner and CEO Jim Irsay passed away peacefully this afternoon,” the statement said. “Jim’s dedication and enthusiasm to the Indianapolis Colts, in addition to his generosity, commitment to the community and, above all, his love for his family.
The statement continued: “Some of Jim's fondest memories came from his youth working training camps in Baltimore and growing relationships with players, coaches, and staff whom he considered his extended family. He worked in every department before he was named the youngest general manager in team history in 1984 when the Colts arrived in Indianapolis. After he took sole ownership in 1997, he led the Colts to a long series of division titles and bring the city its first Super Bowl Championship.”
“Jim’s love and appreciation for the NFL, in addition to its history, traditions and principles, has influenced him to become the steward of the game for more than 50 years of games throughout the league. Jim’s generosity, Indiana and Indianapolis throughout the country. He never hesitated to promote philanthropy. “Music is one of Jim’s passions, and his ability to share bands and collections with millions of people around the world brings great joy to him.” In short, he wanted to make the world a better place, and this philosophy never wavered. ”
“Jim will be deeply missed by his family, the Colts and fans everywhere, but we are still inspired by his care and unique spirit,” the statement concluded.
Irsay was the main owner and chairman of the Colts since 1997 until his father passed away after inheriting the team. Robert Irsayhe died in 1997.
Under his watch, the Colts entered two Super Bowls and won the Super Bowl XLI in 2007.

He’s a very generous and enthusiastic owner and I will always be grateful for him as he started my start in the NFL,” the retired quarterback shared via Instagram late Wednesday. “His love for the Colts and Indy City is unparalleled. His impact on the players he plays for will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone in the Colts community. He will be missed.
Irsay survived by his ex-wife Meghis three daughters, Kali,,,,, Casey and Karenand his 10 grandchildren.
