Malacañang suspends courses, government has no job in super underworld Nando

Malacañang on Monday suspended classes and government work for Metro Manila, with more than a dozen provinces in Luzon as Super Typhoon Ragasa, a local super typhoon named Nando, threatened Northern Luzon, whose destructive winds and bulging rain caused worse rain to the southwest monsoon.

The Presidential Palace said that the work of curriculum and government offices at all levels was suspended in Metro Manila, Abra, Antiques, Apayo, Bataan, Batanis, Peta Angas, Benguet, Benguet, Bulacan, bulacan, cagayan, cagayan, cavite and ifugao. The order also covers Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, Kalinga, La Union, Eastern Events, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Palawan, Romblon, Rizal, Tarlac, Tarlac and zambales.

According to the recommendations of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Commission (NDRRMC), the suspension is intended to reduce the risk of heavy rain and strong winds. Organizations involving critical services such as health, disaster response and other basic operations are ordered to continue on duty.

Some local governments suspended courses as early as Sunday.

As of 8 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Authority (Pagasa) said Lagasa was found 180 kilometers east of Karayan in Kagayan. It moves westward at a speed of 20 km/h (kph), with a maximum sustained wind of 215 kph and a maximum gust of 265 kph.

Pagasa warned that the super typhoon could approach the Pabuyan Islands between noon and afternoon, or land in the afternoon and could leave the Philippines on Tuesday morning. The Meteorological Bureau added that Lagasa may maintain its strength or further before its closest approach.

Tropical cyclone signal (TCW) is raised in northern Luzon. Signal No. 5 (highest alarm) was hung in the northern and central parts of the Babuyan Islands, where the wind reaching 185 kph poses a great threat to life and property.

Signal No. 4 is presented in the southeast of Batanis, the rest of the Babyan Islands, the northeast and northwest of the Cagayan continent and the Pagudpud in the north of Northern Lokos. Pagasa said these areas could cause serious damage to buildings, widespread power outages and transportation disruptions.

Meanwhile, signal No. 3 takes effect in Batanes, Cagayan, Northern and Central Apayao, as well as the rest of Northern and Ilocos Norte. These regions face important threats, including damage to infrastructure and agriculture.

Signal No. 2 is suspended in parts of Diadi in Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Northern Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, the rest of Ilocos Norte Norte, Ilocos Sur and Northern La La La La.

The Nakar and Polillo Islands of Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, Zambales and Quezon are all placed in signal 1. These areas may experience occasional gusts.

Authorities urge residents in high-risk areas to prepare for strong winds, storm surges, floods and landslides. Pagasa also warned Fisherfolk and the operators of the boat to avoid navigation in affected coastal waters. – EDG Adrian A. Eva
