White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt tried to mock Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday about the alleged physical dispute, and reportedly Trump’s top allies turned into Trump ally Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
“We’re all trying to figure out what’s going on here, what’s going on,” Bartiromo said, citing a Washington Post news report that Musk Musk, who has now been deprived of Musk’s physical examination and said as the White House’s disparity in opinion broke out.
Then she asked Levitt: “What happened? Did he have a physical examination at the White House Treasury Secretary?”
Leavitt laughed, trying to spin the conflict into one of “the healthy divisions between the cabinet and Elon Musk,” she claims only “it really speaks to the heart of this cabinet and the presidential team that they can have these strong divisions and then still unite to do the right thing for the people they serve.”
Bartiromo pressed later: “What I want to understand here is how rough this is because the president said Elon Musk disrespects the president’s office.”
“Now, we know, there will definitely be real disrespect from many of Elon Musk’s X posts. But is he actually physical?” she continued. “Did he punch his physical examination of the Finance Minister?”
Levitt replied: “I certainly wouldn’t describe it as a fist.” “It’s definitely a disagreement. Even though I’m not there, I didn’t see it with my own eyes. I’ve heard of it through second-hand reports. But, we keep moving from it again. The President keep moving from it.”
