Knicks fell 0-2 holes and no NBA team escaped in the finals

The New York Knicks have fallen to a place where teams have not been overcome in NBA history.
After a historic collapse in the first game of the Eastern Indiana Pacers’ Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks slipped over the finger with a 114-109 defeat.
No NBA team lost the first two games at home and won the series in the finals.

Pascal Siakam beat a playoff career-high 39 points Friday night, with the Pacers defeating the New York Knicks 114-109 to lead 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
“We have a long way to go, and it's only going to be harder for us,” Siakam said.
Myles Turner added 16 points, and Tyrese Haliburton scored 14 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for the Pacers, who lost to the Lakers in 2000 with their only NBA final appearance.
Siakam scored 15-15 from the field one night.
“Special game,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “In the first half, he was the guy who made us move forward and got us through some of the hardships.”
Jalen Brunson scored 36 points and 11 assists for the Knicks, and it would be short to have their quick turnaround or to play in the finals for the first time in 25 years. Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Town scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for The Knicks, respectively, but with coach Tom Thibodeau's backup Mitchell Robinson, a better defender, who grabbed nine rebounds.
“Going into the fourth quarter, it's a draw. We just have to make better games, more wins,” Thiboddo said.
