When being interviewed by reporters Bolavip’s Nicholas Albek in Stockholm this weekRuane expressed his full support for Kyrgios returning to the professional tour.

“Nick Kyrgios has always been very good to me, so we’ve always had a very good relationship. I don’t know if he will come back, but it’s good for tennis because he always has some very exciting matches.”

“[Nick’s] “When he plays against Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, his top level is very high, so you have to respect that,” Ruane said. “I know he’s struggling physically, so that’s probably the biggest thing he’s going to have to overcome. Whether he wants it or not, time will tell.”

“We haven’t talked about a new exhibition match yet, although that would be fun. I ended up playing a match with Monfils. He was very cool and it’s unfortunate that we only get to see him on tour for one more year.”

Roone, a former Paris indoor champion, trained with the Hall of Famer earlier this season Andre Agassi, Say they are united by a common strength.

“I’ve always felt like I’ve come back really well and that’s one of my biggest strengths. There was some decline last year and I didn’t come back like I knew I could,” Ruane told Nicholas Albeck. “But especially in pre-season last season, we put a lot of work into improving the statistics in the second game, as you also pointed out.

“It’s always nice to see progress in what you’re doing. I’m also starting to gain more and more confidence, putting more power into my return of serve and trying to put more pressure on my opponent’s second serve.”

“Agassi and I talked a lot about my return when we were training together. He really loved it. Like you said, it was absolutely crazy that he was coming back, so we were really able to have some good conversations. But right now, I’m only in contact with my own team and people that are close to me.”
