Kyrgyz talks about potential new careers – tennis now

In an interview with the 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this week, Kyrgyz admitted his first sports love was not tennis.

Instead, he likes games and basketball.

“My passion is basketball and games,” Kyrgyz wore a black Call of Duty T-shirt during the interview. “It’s thrown into a very clean sport.

The devout Boston Celtics fan said he spent hours playing Fortnite and Duty Call of Duts. Kyrgios said his game compulsive measures often come at the expense of tennis training and tournaments on the ATP Tour.

The former Australian Open doubles champion said he dreamed of becoming a professional player.

“I really want to be [an esports] “Player. And I missed the game and training because I just like it and purely because I don’t care.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist shared that he put the “F-bomb” in front of the Royal Box during his four-set loss to Novak Djokovic, but vowed that he wouldn’t change his style to fit traditional tennis standards.

“Now it seems I’m more popular,” Kyrgyz said. “You know, when I was playing in front of the Royal Box of Wimbledon, I was throwing bombs…

“But look, it’s a fitting effort. But now I know I kind of embrace it. I won’t change for anyone, and that brought me all the way here, so it paid off.”
