Labor Day 2025: Banks, stock markets, schools will open on May 1? Everything you need to know

Labor Day is celebrated every year on May 1, respecting the contributions of workers and the labor movement rooted in the late 19th century. Also known as the International Workers Day or Mayday, it is an important opportunity to recognize the efforts of the working class in all sectors.

Will the bank open on May 1?

Banks in several cities will be closed on Thursday, May 1, 2025 during Labor Day complying with Maharashtra Day. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Holiday Calendar, bank closures vary by region, country, country and religious activity.
