Learners Tien and Martin Landaluce have been the biggest winners of the PIF ATP live competition over the past week.

Tien made his biggest breakthrough in the ATP 500 event in Beijing, where he became the finalist for the second year in tournament history. The 19-year-old left-handed beats top ten stars Lorenzo Musetti and former world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev at the China Open.

Tien is the third-year tour finalist of the season, losing to Jannik Sinner in the championship game, but now has a career record of 7-5 against the top 20 opponents. The Americans ranked second with 1,170 points in the PIF ATP live game, and he will compete in the next ATP final for the second consecutive year and will compete in the last season of the previous season.

“It’s been a great week,” Teen said after the Beijing final. “Obviously, I’d love to go all the way. I’m very satisfied no matter this week. It’s my first semi-final, my first final, so I’m very happy with my progress.

“I’m going to play more games every week every week. This is my first year on tour, so I think I’m getting a lot of experience every week, playing a lot of new players, playing different environments, just a lot of different games. That’s all that experience I’ve gained.”

One player who hopes to join Tien in Jeddah from December 17 to 21 is Landaluce. Espanyol won the first ATP Challenger Tour of the season in Orleans, climbing to three positions in Jeddah with 406 points in live matches. He scored 165 points less than ninth-place Justin Engel, the first player outside the top 8 layoffs.

The 19-year-old won the U.S. Open men’s singles match in 2022. He won his first Challenger Championship in Olbia last October and is now aiming for his first trip to the event at 20 and under.

“Martin has a great balance on the court and on the court, which will help him a lot throughout his career,” Landaluce coach Oscar Burrieza told Atptour.com in September. “He’s a positive guy, he’s a happy and very calm guy, which will help. We’re trying to get his consistency when it’s harder to hit it, but the biggest thing is his fitness. Spiritually, he’s ready, he’s a very resilient guy, so he knows how to suffer and be brave.

Germany’s Engel is also a huge mover, lifting three positions to ninth. The 17-year-old reached the quarter-finals this year in his hometown of Stuttgart, reaching the semi-finals in Orleans.

The PIF ATP live game lasts until Monday, November 10, ranking in the top 8. Joao Fonseca canceled the trophy in 2024.
