Anti-ice protests in Los Angeles even continue after La Mayor Karen Bass As immigration and customs enforcement operations continue in Southern California, a curfew was issued from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday.
On Thursday evening, LAPD continued to shout “peaceful protests” and took a bus of more than 20 protesters.
Over the weekend, protests in Los Angeles exploded, causing the Los Angeles Police Department to announce Sunday night’s “illegal assembly.”

The central department of LAPD wrote on X: “Agitators have split into and spread across the city. Residents, businesses and tourists should be alert and report any criminal activity. Officers are responding to several different locations to disperse the crowd.”
Bass announced she would extend a curfew at a press conference on Thursday and said it appears to help reduce confrontation between law enforcement and protesters.

“We had to have a curfew in this city because we want to make sure downtown communities and all other communities are safe,” she said. “But it makes me very clear that we want peace to come to our city. We need peace that begins in Washington, and we need to stop the raids.”
In the past few days, it was initially peaceful protests that began to escalate, with mobs burning flags on the streets, defacing police cars and destroying property.

“The downtown Los Angeles area has declared an illegal council,” Lapud said.

Since then, more than 2,000 National Guards have been stationed in Los Angeles to combat protests expected to continue into the weekend.
Los Angeles residents may soon start seeing the Marines in the area and coordinated operations with the National Guard begin.
