Israel says it intercepts missiles from Yemen after a port strike
The Israeli military said on Tuesday it intercepted missiles launched in Yemen several hours after attacking Houthi militia facilities at the port of Jodida, Yemen.
Alarm sounded in Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank and several areas in central Israel.
There are no reports of injuries or major damage.
The Israeli military said in a statement that the missile broke into several pieces after being hit by an intercepted missile.
It accused Iran-backed Hushis of launching missiles.
The military said Israel’s defense has fired at least seven interceptor missiles to shoot down debris.
Since the beginning of the Gaza War in October 2023, Hushis has regularly attacked Israel’s rockets and drones, uniting with the Palestinian Islamic organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Israel launched air strikes on militia targets.
