U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held his first formal meeting in Washington, DC, and Hamas’s hostage family still in Gaza amid the ongoing war between terrorist groups and Israel.
Rubio reiterated the Trump administration’s commitment to the release of all 50 hostages, according to a press release from the Hostages and Missing Family Forum.
The meeting features Moshe Lavi, brother of hostage Omri Miran; Ilay David, brother of hostage Evyatar David; Zul Godin, brother of Lieutenant Hadar Godin; and recently released hostage Iair Horn, whose brother Eitan Horn is still in prison.

Rubio’s wife Jeanette and son Anthony were also at the meeting.
During the meeting, the secretary told the family that a true Gaza victory could only be achieved when all hostages return home.
He also noted that the U.S. government has demonstrated its ability to lead major programs in the Middle East. He further argued that Israel had won in Iran and Lebanon and had the ability to defeat Hamas.

These families stressed that this was a critical opportunity to bring the rest of the hostages home in a comprehensive deal, rather than a phase or part of the deal, just like Israel’s previous hostage deal with Hamas.
They expressed trust in the Trump administration, demanding urgent action and determination to release the rest of Hamas imprisoned.

“We’ve been waiting long enough,” the family said. “It’s time to make a brave decision and bring all the loved ones back–just right away.”
