Marvel’s plan to remove the best movies is the only thing that can save Star Wars

Recently, Kevin Feige confirmed what most nerds have guessed: MCU will be Avengers: Secret War. The president of Marvel Studios insists on using the term “reset,” which means we’ll get a mix of new things (such as Feige already promised a recast version of Iron Man and Captain America) and familiar things (if the murders of Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds won’t stick around). This approach may or may not save the tagged MCU, but I can’t help thinking that the reset method would be a better way to save Star Wars.

The general avoidance of disgruntled fans is always “This is not my Star Wars. But this ancient franchise has a whole Generations Fans and they both want something different: Original trilogy fans love solid storytelling and special effects, while prequel trilogy fans love stupid humor and excessive action sequences. Meanwhile, sequel trilogy fans (yes, they exist!), usually like these movies to introduce new characters to the franchise.

Phantom Threat Destroy Star Wars with the Medium-Chlorine

One of the reasons why Star Wars has so many since Disney took power is that it is impossible to make all these different groups happy in the current state of the franchise. Remember that the original trilogy fans were already annoyed when the current biography turned Darth Vader into an annoying kid (twice!), while messing with the mid-high chlorine dysfunctionalism. Even prequel trilogy fans are confused by the identity crisis of the sequel, which cannot figure out important things like how Emperor Palpatine returns.

Subsequently, some fans called for a complete reboot of Star Wars as a nuclear option to rebuild the franchise from scratch. While this can make Disney arguably a more cohesive story, there is no real reason to believe that executive decisions have made us awe of God The Rise of Skywalker Restart will do a good job. In addition, fans Each ERA may feel frustrated when they see all their favorite characters suddenly being played by brand new actors.

Star Wars that performs nuclear selection

That’s why Kevin Feige’s “reset” method may be exactly what it takes to save Star Wars. this Secret War The Marvel Comics restart (the MCU may copy its approach) allows writers to keep things most fans love when making some important changes, including bringing Miles Morales into the 616 universe. Of course, this is not perfect, but this reset method allows the writer to change only a few things and effectively appease fans who will hate the whole status quo.

Star Wars reset can do the same thing, keeping the basic aspects of the myth (e.g., blowing up the basic aspects of Death Star with Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker), while throwing away more controversial elements like Medium Chlorine. It is now possible to give compelling reasons to return to Palpatine, which can even change most events The Rise of Skywalker common. This could survive the redeemed Kylo Ren, bringing Adam Driver (the best part of the sequel trilogy) back to Star Wars.

When it comes to bringing people back, the reset method allows Disney to bring back fans’ favorite actors (such as Rey actor Daisy Ridley), while recasting those who are unlikely to return to the franchise (such as Finnish actor John Boyega). If fans embraced this approach to sequel-era movies and TV shows, Disney might become bold enough to eventually recast original trilogy idols Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Kelly Fisher. In addition to making it easier to reset the franchise as a whole, this will make it easier to create new content (e.g. Postal –Return of the Jedi Show) has a younger version of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa.

Granted, the Star Wars reset may backfire, but the franchise now has little to lose: its Disney+ show mostly dies in the water, and since then, there hasn’t been a new movie The Rise of Skywalker Bombarded in 2019. Resets may be the only way to effectively please most Star Wars fans of three generations of movies, who all want something different. Otherwise, this franchise might die and then do something even Emperor Palpatine could not do: keep dead.
