Medvedev starts 2026 with Brisbane title, his 22nd – Tennis Now

Daniil Medvedev went 882 days without a title before finally winning it last October in Almaty. Three months later, his next championship came…

The current world number 13 continued his winning streak in 2026, defeating Brandon Nakajima 6-2, 7-6(1) to capture the Brisbane International Championship, the 22nd of his career.

That gives the former world number one 22 titles in 22 different cities.

Medvedev broke serve three times and kept his cool after failing to serve in the second set against the 33rd-ranked American. He dominated the second set tiebreaker to defeat Nakajima 3-0.

Medvedev, who has won 20 of his 22 titles on hard courts, is the first top seed to win in Brisbane since Roger Federer in 2015.
