The quarter-finals of the Miami Open, hosted by ETA, continue on Thursday with Yannik Sinner taking on Frances Tiafoe and Alexander Zverev taking on Francesco Cerundolo.

[2] Sinner vs Sinner [19] Tiafoe (1:00 p.m. ET)
When was the last time Sinner dropped a set at an ATP Masters 1000 event? October 5, 2025 in Shanghai. Since then 14 games and 28 sets have passed.

Next up to challenge the world number two is Tiafoe, who has reached the quarter-finals of the Masters 1000m for the first time since losing to Sinner in the 2024 Sinnerty final.

Sinner arrived in Indian Wells earlier this month still looking for his first title in 2026 after semi-final exits at the Australian Open and Doha. However, the Italian has rediscovered his best form on North American hard courts and is now just three wins away from completing a ‘sunshine double’ – lifting trophies at Indian Wells and Miami. The feat has only been accomplished by seven men, the most recent being Roger Federer in 2017.

Sinner, the 2024 Miami champion, holds a 4-1 Lexus ATP head-to-head lead over Tiafoe in the quarterfinals, scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m. at Stadium Arena. Tiafoe fought his way into the quarterfinals, saving two match points in a dramatic third-round win over 2025 titleholder Jakub Mensik, before adding wins over Arthur Cazaux and Terence Atmane. The American has moved up two spots to No. 18 in the PIF ATP live rankings, and will rise further with an upset victory.

[3] Zverev VS Zverev [18] Cerundolo (before 7:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time)
For a while, Serendolo had Zverev’s number. The Argentinian won the pair’s first three games before Zverev struck back to level the series at 3-3. On Thursday night in Miami, the 27-year-old Cerundolo will try to turn the momentum around in an event where he has been a standout performer throughout his career.

Cerundolo had a breakthrough year in Miami in 2022, reaching the semifinals and climbing from outside the top 100 to No. 51 in the PIF ATP Rankings. He then repeated this success by reaching the quarter-finals in 2023 and 2025. Over the past two weeks, the 18th seed has defeated Daniil Medvedev, Ugo Humbert and Thiago Augustin Tirant to advance to the quarterfinals at tour level for the third time this season.

At the same time, Zverev said he would take a more aggressive approach in 2026. While the world No. 3 has yet to win a title this year, he impressed with his semifinal performances at the Australian Open and Indian Wells.

Now chasing his eighth Masters 1000m title and first since Paris in 2024, Zverev aims to maintain his recent advantage over Cerundolo and set up a semi-final showdown with Sinner or Tiafoe.
