DPWH fires 3 Bulacan officials in abnormal flood control project

On Monday, the Ministry of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) formally dismissed three officials from the Braka District 1 Engineering Office for committing multiple administrative offences related to the abnormal flood control project.

In the September 15 decision, DPWH Secretary Vivencio “Vince” B. Dizon, former regional engineer Brice Ericson D. Hernandez, Director of Construction Jaypee D. Mendoza and Accountant Juanito C. Mendoza were ordered to withdraw from service.

Officials were found guilty of “serious misconduct against the Republic of the Philippines and the people of the Philippines, serious misconduct, serious neglect of duty, and exercise prejudice in the best interests of the service.”

In addition to firing, they are also prohibited from taking office and lose any retirement benefits. Their civil service qualifications have also been cancelled.
