More than 70 Israeli MPs vow to support Taiwan, urging global inclusion

Members of the parliament stressed that the statement reflects gratitude for Taiwan’s continued support for Israel and acknowledges Taiwan’s great contribution to global welfare.

A total of 72 lawmakers from the coalition and opposition parties signed a joint statement on Thursday condemning Taiwan’s exclusion from international forums and for being “irresponsible and irresponsible.”

The statement was initiated by Mk Boaz Toporovsky (Yesh Atid) with the support of the President of the Israeli Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Association with the support of Mk Ohad Tal (Religious Zionist Party). Toporovsky and Tal, along with 70 other parliamentary members (excluding Arab parties) called for Taiwan to be included in global organizations, especially in terms of health, transportation, environmental protection and human rights.

“Taiwan is a thriving democracy that, despite its challenging geopolitical environment, is committed to the principles of freedom, equality, human rights and the rule of law. We strongly oppose Taiwan’s exclusion from organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) (WHO), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) (ICAO) and the United Nations Framework for Climate Change (especially in the scope of trade created by Thailand), in particular, the statement said: “The pandemic has played a leading role in finding solutions and providing assistance globally.” ”

Members of the parliament also stressed that supporting Taiwan’s participation in these international organizations will not conflict with Israel’s “China” policy. Instead, it reflects Taiwan’s appreciation for the continued support of Israel and recognizes Taiwan’s important contribution to global welfare.

MK Boaz Toporovsky praised the initiative, saying: “Israel will always remember who stands on it when it needs to. After October 7, Taiwan was one of the first people to stand on Israel by Israel and has been supporting us since then. Taiwan supports Israel in diplomacy and promotes efforts to victims, stability, and stability of humanity, as well as health, education, and more, and more education, and more, and more, and more, and more, and more, and more, and more. And democracy.”

“I am proud of the majority of Israeli lawmakers’ gratitude to Taiwan and their support for continued active international participation.”

He concluded: “I call on Israel’s business, academic and public sector to work with their peers in Taiwan, a country driven by innovation and progress and a deep desire to deepen our cooperation with us.”

Taiwan’s continued support for Israel enhances ties and prosperity

Mk Ohad Tal added: “Taiwan is a true friend of Israel and does not hesitate to show it in both words and actions.

Ya-Ping (Abby) Lee, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, also commented on the initiative, saying: “On behalf of the people and government of Taiwan, I would like to sincerely thank the cross-party support in Congress. This common statement not only proves your firm support for your democracy, but your recognition and Thailand’s recognition are the basis for recognition of Thailand, in international organizations.

This is an unprecedented historical step, conveying not only a powerful message to the people of Taiwan, but also to democracies around the world: Democracies must unite and speak in a voice when authoritarian regimes are under increasing pressure.

Members of the Israeli parliament called for deepening ties with Taiwan in the fields of economy, technology and people, and we especially encourage us and we look forward to seeing these relationships flourish and our friendship flourishing, based on mutual respect and common good.

I also want to acknowledge the courage and great hearts of the parliamentary members who have been supporting Taiwan for many years. ”
