First on Fox: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and several other federal law enforcement agencies jointly arrested more than 80 illegal immigrants, including some with criminal records, during workplace enforcement operations at Louisiana Racecourse.
The joint operation, which took place on June 17, was followed by a brief pause in immigration arrests at farms, hotels and restaurants.
Authorities have obtained intelligence that businesses operating on the Delta Towns Racecourse in Winton, Louisiana are hiring unauthorized workers.

While most arrests on the racetrack were linked to immigration violations, several criminal immigrants were found. Among the arrested were Enrique Gonzalez Moreno, 36, who illegally entered the United States four times from Mexico. According to the ICE, in illegal circumstances, Moreno was convicted twice for driving under influence and once for cocaine possession and illegal reentry.

Authorities are continuing to deal with illegal immigration.

“Usually, when we conduct these workplace enforcement actions, we find other forms of criminal conduct, such as document and beneficiary fraud, money laundering and human trafficking,” Delaune said. “So we are able to strengthen public safety in our local communities by eliminating criminal activities and eliminating any dangerous criminal foreigner, transnational gang members or other serious immigration offenders who illegally enter any business work in the country without authorized business.”

The joint operation was conducted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Border Patrol, Louisiana State Police, the FBI and alcohol, tobacco, guns and explosives.
The arrests came after a week of anti-ice protests in major U.S. cities, and some turned violent in areas such as Los Angeles and Portland.
