Musetti has no match as sinners soar to the U.S. Open – Tennis Now

The first all-Italian men’s singles Grand Slam quarterfinals delivered what was most expected: World One Jannik Sinner’s main display on his favorite surface. Under the lights of Arthur Ashe Stadium, the 24-year-old removed Lorenzo Musetti 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, booked his place in the U.S. Open semifinals.

Winning, Sina brought his tough Grand Slam title streak to 26 games, and his U.S. open winning streak to 12 games. Now, the Italian is 25-1 in this year’s Grand Slam, with the only one he won Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland-Garros final.

Sinner, calm and assured, his experience works in a remote opening scene where Musetti shows nerves. Although the 22-year-old improved his level in season 2 and 3, the results were never questioned. The No. 1 seed saved all seven breakthrough points he faced and never allowed his fellow countrymen to find a foothold.

“I love trying to get my level deep in the game. You know, I feel like two years and the Grand Slam from now on, I really like to play five times. I know I’m a little better, so I’m happy and happy to be in the semifinals again,” said the Sinner.

Musetti then admitted: “I think you have to seize the few chances he gives you with an opponent like him, I can’t do it.”

Sinner was ruthless and won 28 winners for Musetti. He wrapped the proceedings in just two hours, bringing his total to 10 hours and 12 minutes of five games. In the fourth round, he lost only one set – Dennis Shapowaf.

Reflecting on the challenges facing fellow countrymen, Musetti admitted that Sina’s game had arrived.

“Of course, a lot of things have changed since the last meeting. We both grew up. Honestly, I never played the role of someone who let me attend such a gathering, [not giving me] He always leads the rally with many opportunities in the rally. Of course, it’s a bad feeling. ”

The sinner now turns his attention to Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian won the first two meetings, but the Italian beat him 6-0, 6-2 in Cincinnati.

“It will be completely different because the conditions here are different. He won some great victories and his confidence in him grew.”
