Muslim leaders say we must lead the AI revolution or die

The head of the British Muslim Council (MCB) said in a leaked video that Muslims must be in charge of artificial intelligence or “cursed” as a marginalized community.
MCB Secretary General Dr Wajid Akhter said Muslims and their children lose the risk of AI revolution in ways that are backward with the computer and social media revolution.
He added that while Muslims have historically been at the forefront of civilization and are considered some of the biggest scientific advances, they ended up being the butt of jokes in the modern world after failing to participate in the latest technological revolutions.
“We have missed the Industrial Revolution. We have missed the Computer Revolution. We have missed the Social Media Revolution. If we missed the AI Revolution, we will be cursed and our children will die. We have to lead.”
Speaking at the MCB’s AI and Muslim Community Conference on July 19, he added: “AI needs Islam, it requires Muslims to step up their efforts.”
Scientists tease “faith” in computer launch
Dr. Akther recalls that when Mark II, one of the world’s earliest computers, was launched, American scientists aligned the prayer mat with Mecca.
“They laugh at all religions because they feel that they have reached the age of rationality, science and technology, and we no longer need this superstition,” he said.
“So, to show that they have mastered the religion, they decided to make fun of it and chose our faith.
“How did we move from being a person who gives the world the most beautiful architecture, science, technology, medicine, art to making jokes?
“I will tell you one thing-the next time the world is undergoing revolution, the next time they flip that switch, they will also pull out the prayer pad [the direction towards Mecca] They will pray, too, but this time, don’t make fun of us, because they are us. ”
Government relaxes its position on MCB
Dr. Axer also told his audience: “We are lost to each other. We have been declining since we are lost to each other. We have been declining since then. Now, we are forced, and we are forced by Allah to watch the genocide of our brothers and sisters in our location in Gaza.
“If we know this is a punishment for us. We are the ones who are forced to beg for people who are killing to stop it. We are the ones who are strong but can’t even pour a bottle of water into Gaza.”
Dr. Akt said Gaza “wakes up” Muslims, showing that they need solidarity.
He added: “We will continue to decline until we realize that we can turn that around only on the day when we are united. Until we realize that we need to sacrifice for this unity.”
Since 2009, the UK government has maintained its “non-participation” policy with the MCB based on claims made by the Council, and some of its officials have previously made extremist comments.
However, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner is making a new official definition of Islamophobia, and a consultation appeared last week and has been opened to all groups, including the MCB.
Earlier this year, Minister of Work and Pensions Sir Stephen Timms was one of four Labor MPs participating in the MCB event.
