New game announcement expectations, how to watch and schedule

With the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, there wasn’t enough crazy time in the gaming world in early June, and it was also when a lot of show-offs took place as part of the Summer Game Festival. Apart from two sensational events – the Summer Games Festival Live and the Xbox Games Showcase – there are many other events, including always a day for developers.

There may be more on the case file. It is always possible that Nintendo and Sony will go directly or in a state respectively in the next few weeks. Ubisoft hasn’t announced this year’s forward events yet – perhaps because it delayed a bunch of big games and wasn’t ready to talk about them.

How to watch the Summer Game Festival live – June 6, 5 pm ET

On the timing of this display cabinet, our worries – on a Friday night in the UK, when many people on the East Coast watch the weekend clock time – the Summer Game Festival live broadcast was one of the larger events in early June. It starts at 5 p.m. ET and will last for two hours.

Organizers are expected to “spectacular new video game announcements, surprises and revelations”. It’s very compelling, especially since host Geoff Keighley (righteously) downplayed expectations ahead of last year’s show.

We do know a few games that will appear. SGF Live will include new viewing Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Soul-style action RPG from studio Leenzee from China. The game will arrive in July. Open World MMORPG Chrono Odyssey Will appear, like Atomic Heart Studio Mundfish.

Oh, of course it will be there. SGF Live took place a few weeks ago in Kojima Death Stranding 2: On the Beach It’s here, so we’ll probably be ahead of a more in-depth match on June 8 (introducing this game for the time being). Perhaps there are other projects working on the island that will be in trouble.

Keighley also released an initial list of SGF partners. It includes big names like PlayStation, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox, Steam, 2K, Epic Games, and Square Enix. On the list is IO Interactive, which has confirmed that we will first learn about the James Bond game that has been ongoing for several years at some point this week. Killer Studio announces the game in SGF’s Leadup 007 First Light.

Embark Studios is there too, given that there is a lot of hype around its upcoming extract shooter, Arc Raiderthere is high hopes for this release date. Most importantly, CD Projekt Red will be in SGF, but is more likely to promote Cyberpunk 2077Arrive at the arrival of Nintendo Switch 2, not at Wizard 4 (Although the latter will appear in the illusion earlier this week).

You can watch SGF live streams on over 20 platforms including YouTube (this stream will be available in 4K at 60 fps), Twitch, X, Tiktok, Steam and International Services. The event will be live from YouTube Theatre and you can attend in person if you prefer.

After SGF Live ends, YouTube and Twitch Streams will immediately enter the summer 2025 development date. This independent-focused showcase always has a great lineup of games to watch out for.

Devolver Digital will show off a previously unannounced title Ball X Pit: Kenny Suns’ Story. The publisher has not revealed more details about the game, but apparently, it is Devolver’s “team itself can’t even let go hundreds of hours later.” Devolver has a strong record, so this may be worthy of your attention.

How to watch Health Direct – June 7, 12:00 ET

Never ignore the smaller events that occur during SGF, as you can always find a lot of snacks. One such event is a wholesome direct, which will introduce about 60 comfortable games. It will include global premiere, presentation announcements, and updates from publishers and developers, including Playstack, BTF Games, Ustwo Games and WētāWorkshop (their WētāWorkshop). How to Watch Green Game Showcase – June 7, 4 pm ET

Green Game Showcase is a new member of the 2025 lineup. This will focus on the gaming industry’s “increasing commitment to the environment”. It will adopt a game that directly contributes to the green plan. Other titles in the display cabinet revolve around sustainability, some aim to raise awareness about environmental reasons or promote action.

Amazon Games, Skybound Games and Team17 are participants. The stream will include questions and answers on how the game inspires meaningful actions toward climate change. There will also be a fundraising campaign to help plant 50,000 trees.

What are the times in this stream the term “One Day with Game Pass”? This is a sentence you can definitely expect to hear, but Microsoft will share a lot here. This is the largest Xbox display cabinet of the year. Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda and Activision Blizzard will have disclosures and updates.
