The state’s Democratic leader announced Monday that California will sue the Trump administration for a decision to activate National Guard fixed persons in Los Angeles County over the weekend.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta claimed in a statement that President Donald Trump abused his power by invoking Chapter 10, a law that allows the president to mobilize the National Guard when an invasion or rebellion is underway.

“President Trump’s order brings the federal National Guard to Los Angeles’ governor and local law enforcement objections – unnecessary and counterproductive,” Bonta said.

Bonta added that there was no “invasion” and “no invasion” in California.

“The president is trying to create chaos and crisis for his political purposes,” Bonta said.

The California Attorney General’s Office said a copy of the complaint against the government would be obtained soon.
