Nick Kyrgios gets Brisbane wildcard – Tennis Now

Kyrgios, who has been busy with exhibition tours this month, has been given a wild card to play in next month’s Brisbane international.
2018 Brisbane champion Kyrgios joins defending champions Jiri Lehkaformer world no. Daniil Medvedev, Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe, Grigor Dimitrov, Joao Fonseca and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina In the Brisbane field.

Former Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios will reunite with good friend Thanasi Kokkinakis in the doubles event in Brisbane. The pair nicknamed the “Special Ks” won the 2022 Australian Open doubles championship and will play doubles in Brisbane.
The Brisbane International is scheduled to take place from January 4 to 11. On Sunday, January 11, the men’s final, women’s final and men’s doubles final will all take place.
Kyrgios, 30, has signed to compete in the 2026 Kooyang Classic from January 13-15.
The post-Christmas season will be a busy one on the pitch for Kyrgios.
The battle of the sexes between two-time U.S. Open champions Alina Sabalenka Former Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios will take the fight to the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 28.
Kyrgios said he would like to see tennis build more competition and “more charlatanism” and believed the showdown could attract more interest in the sport.
“Tennis needs more competition. Tennis needs more charlatanism, like the NBA in the 1990s,” Kyrgios said. “You can’t please everyone.
“I’m not friends with a lot of the players and I have no interest in being a part of them.”
