Milos Raonic announced his retirement from professional tennis via social media on Sunday.
After the news broke, Novak Djokovic shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram Story, congratulating Raonic on a memorable career.
“Congratulations on an amazing career, @mraonic 🙌🇨🇦,” Djokovic wrote.
Paris 2024 doubles partner Felix Auger-Aliassime also shared a message on Instagram. He wrote: “The greatest Canadian of all time 🇨🇦🙌🏽 Thank you for everything you have brought to Canadian tennis and, on a personal note, thank you for being an amazing role model and mentor over the years 🙏🏽.”
Stars such as Bianca Andreescu, Steve Nash, Jose Bautista, Vera Wang, John Isner and Zizou Burgess also shared their messages in the comments on Raonic’s retirement post on Instagram.
“Canadian legend 🙏🏻🇨🇦,” Andreescu commented.
“@mraonic has had an outstanding career, completed with class and professionalism from start to finish,” Isner wrote.
