Djokovic watches Fonseca’s exciting Davis Cup victory against Tsitsipas

Novak Djokovic is in the Davis Cup match between Joao Fonseca and Greece-led Brazil on Sunday.

In the PIF ATP rankings, not every day there are record holders in the first place competition, but that’s exactly what happened on Sunday in Athens.

Novak Djokovic attended the meeting with his son Stefan, tied in the Davis Cup at home in Greece and Brazil. The 100-time Tour-level Titlist watched Joao Fonseca Seal Brazilian victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas led Fonseca 5-3 in the decision game and had a chance to compete, which would lead to a decision for the fifth time Rubber. Instead, #NextGenAtp star Fonseca defeated the former world third place 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 to win the final four games of the game.

All of this adds up

This is the first Lexus ATP Head2head meeting for the two. Fonseca has started the tie with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Stefanos Sakellaridis, while Tsitsipas has eased Thiago Seyboth Wild 6-2, 6-1.

Rafael Matos and Marcelo Melo defeated Aristotelis Thanos and Petros Tsitsipas 6-2, 6-2 to finish the tie with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
