Novak Djokovic withdraws from Adelaide – Tennis Now

Novak Djokovic’s The road to the Australian Open will bypass Adelaide.

Grand Slam king Djokovic announced today that he will withdraw from next week’s Adelaide International because his physical condition is not fully ready to compete.

“This is very disappointing for me personally as I have such great memories of winning there two years ago,” Djokovic posted on Instagram. “I’m really excited to be back because it really feels like playing at home.

“My focus now is preparing for the Australian Open and I look forward to arriving in Melbourne soon and meeting all the tennis fans in Australia.”

The main draw of the Australian Open will be held from January 18 to February 1.

Djokovic has won a record 10 Australian Open titles, most recently in Melbourne in 2023 when he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
