Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the Miami Open hosted by ETA with a right shoulder injury, the tournament announced on Sunday.
The Serbian star competed in Indian Wells, where he reached the fourth round of singles and the second round of doubles with Stefanos Tsitsipas. Djokovic is a finalist at this year’s Australian Open and has a 7-2 singles record this season, according to the Infosys ATP Win-Loss Index.
The 38-year-old is a six-time Miami champion who reached the final last year but lost to Jakub Mensik.
Djokovic holds the record for the most 1,000 ATP Masters titles with 40, and he has won a total of 101 tour-level trophies, most recently in Athens last November.
The main draw of the Miami Open, hosted by ETA, begins on Wednesday and qualifying begins on Monday.
