Omega reveals new type of railway master watch with two elegant models
On this side of the pond, train travel may not be the attraction in Europe or Asia. Still, it remains a part of much American life, especially on the East Coast, and remains a foreshadowing part of tradition that extends to the most cinematic historical moments of the country. Omega, the idea that it wasn’t an American watch brand, initially launched the so-called “Professional Series” in 1957, building a series of watches for the timers of trains, boats and racers. This year, it brings back its rail-inspired version, the Omega Railroad.

The original professional lines included Speedmaster for racing drivers, Seamaster 300 for marine divers and of course the original railway master for railway staff. What makes the orbit-oriented timer so special is its anti-magnetic properties, which can resist magnetic fields up to 1,000 Gauss. At the time, most anti-magnetic watches could only provide protection at about 60 Gauss, so this was a big improvement.

The latest version of The Railroad Master continues with its latest revival model, designed in a style similar to the Seamaster Aqua Terra Collection, a tradition of the model since 2003. Made of stainless steel, the 38mm watch comes in two different models.
The gray dial with a black gradient version has white indexes and numbers that appear in white Super-Luminova to ensure time can be seen at all times. It can be used on black belts or stainless steel bracelets. Meanwhile, the beige dial version has a small second function above 6 points, as well as the super Luminova index and numbers seen on the grey version. This model can be used on a gold-toned Novonappa leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet.
The heart of the watch is a coaxial main meter 8806, which can withstand magnetism up to 15,000 Gauss. It is automatic and has a power reserve of 55 hours. The Omega Railmaster costs between $5,400 and $6,400 and is available for purchase through the brand’s official website.
