OnePlus Nord CE5 Review: A reliable midrange phone or average?
OnePlus Nord CE 5 Reviews: Last month, OnePlus expanded its NORD lineup with the launch of the OnePlus Nord CE 5 in India. The company claims it comes in three variants and three color options, with a 7,100mAh battery – usually used in the capacity of a tablet. But is this the only outstanding feature among them, or are there more surprises in the store? Keep reading to learn about it.
OnePlus Nord CE 5 Reviews: Price, Color, Variants
The smartphone is available in three versions: 8+128GB, 8+256GB and 12+256GB, with prices of Rs 22,999, Rs 24,999 and Rs 26,999, respectively. Apart from that, the OnePlus Nord Ce 5 is available in three colors: Black Infinity, Marble Mist, and Nexus Blue. We used the 8+256 variant of the device in the Nexus Blue shadow.
OnePlus Nord CE 5 Review: Design
The Nord CE5 has a slightly retro look. However, that doesn’t mean it looks or feels sad. The body feels strong and the back is not curved or hollow. The back is made of plastic and looks and feels like it. The same is true for the middle frame. Although OnePlus has not disclosed its type, the glass cover at the front has a solid glass cover.

On the right, the phone houses the power button and volume rocker, while the left frame is completely empty. NORD 5 and its layout in the device controls are not surprised. At the bottom you will find an analog slot, main microphone, USB Type-C port and speaker grille.
OnePlus Nord CE 5 Review: Show
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1,430 columns. Selfie hole punches are larger than average, but not many. Additionally, the device has an IP65 rating, which indicates resistance to dust and mild water splashes.
We tested it with content-rich apps like YouTube and Amazon Prime and spent time browsing Instagram and Facebook. The experience is always top-notch, with vibrant visual effects and fluid performance overall.
OnePlus Nord CE 5 Review: Camera
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 has a 50MP main camera based on the Sony Lyt-600 sensor. The second camera on the back of the phone is an 8MP fixed focus Ultrawide. For selfies, it also has an additional 16MP front sensor.
We found that the main camera can take decent photos during the day. The details are good, but there are also a lot of noise that cannot be ignored. The contrast is very good, and so is the color. The dynamic range may be a little higher, but it’s still good.
The results of the portrait shot are very good. Although the skin texture is limited in detail, the complexion is natural and pleasing. Subject detection and separation were accurate, with blurry and smooth backgrounds and visually attractive.
Here are some photos we took in different environments and daylight conditions to evaluate camera quality and experience:

OnePlus Nord CE 5 Review: Battery
As mentioned above, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is powered by a 7,100mAh battery and comes with an 80 W SuperVOOC charging adapter.
Initially, the phone’s battery showed a security error and took a long time to charge. However, a quick software update resolves the issue. After that, the device took about 1 hour, from 1% to 100%. Like the OnePlus Nord 5, it also has impressive battery life, or we can say better.
With modest use, including social media scrolling, watching YouTube, and more, it can easily last for two days, and under heavy games or extended video streams, you still have enough fees to comfortably last for the whole day.
OnePlus Nord CE 5 Review: Software and Performance
The OnePlus NORD CE5 is powered by the Mediatek Dimention 8350 Apex chipset, which is built on TSMC’s advanced 4NM process and is based on the latest ARMV9 architecture. For graphics, the chipset includes a 6-core Mali-G615 GPU. During the testing process, the device did not show any lag when multitasking or using multiple applications in the background. And, it handles heat well.
OnePlus Nord CE 5 Review: We Think Something Better
All in all, here are some things we think can be better:
- The OnePlus Nord CE 5 has a plastic frame and a back.
- The camera needs improvement.
- The IP rating has not been improved yet; it offers an IP65 rating.
