Six new cases of patna
The number of Covid-19 patients with Patna has risen to 30 since May 23, according to the latest report released by the Bihar health department, after six new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
New cases include a 19-year-old male, a 21-year-old female and three elderly people aged 55, 66 and 73.
Currently, 24 patients are active, while 6 patients have recovered and discharged. Among the 16 cases in total, government laboratories (AIIMS, NMCH, IGIMS) confirmed, while the remaining 14 were from private laboratories, raising concerns about the silent spread of the virus.
Among the infected, some doctors, nurses and medical students from famous hospitals such as NMCH and IGIMS have attracted attention. Experts warn that this could hinder hospital preparation if appropriate precautions are not maintained.
Including three older patients over 55 years of age in the new case prompted health officials to reiterate the vulnerability of older people and those with comorbidities such as heart disease and diabetes.
“Most patients have mild symptoms such as fever, sore throat and fatigue. However, older people and those with chronic diseases should be particularly cautious,” said Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh, a civil surgeon at Patna.
The hospital has been instructed to ensure the availability of oxygen cylinders, test kits and vaccine stocks.
