Opening on the 4th day in the United States – Tennis Now

The 4th day of the U.S. Open promised to be a blockbuster, and as the second round began, some famous people in tennis began the courtroom. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz hope to continue their progress, while American fans will cheer on 2024 runner-up Jessica Pegula. Women’s top seeds and defending champions Aryna Sabalenka and 2021 Champioon Emma Raducanu are also facing tough tests.
Djokovic’s next test
Four-time U.S. Open champion Novak Djokovic, 38, survived the first round victory over first-round defeat of learner Tien, but admitted he struggled with fitness and recovery during his long exchanges. “I didn’t hurt or anything. I just struggled with a lot of things, had to communicate for a long time and recovered points,” Djokovic said.
After two days off, Djokovic will face the U.S. qualifier Zachary Svajda on Wednesday. The Serbs who haven’t competed since Wimbledon hope to find their rhythm and start building momentum in New York.
American men are acting
Day 4 of Flushing Meadows will have several large American resonances. 2024 finalist Taylor Fritz and sixth-place seed Ben Shelton will be in court, while Fritz faces a challenging opponent, while Shelton touches Pablo Carreno Busta.
Two-time U.S. Open player Frances Tiafoe will meet Martin Damm in the qualifiers, while Marcos Giron and the man who overturned Daniil Medvedev with France’s Benjamin Bonzi. Overall, 8 of the remaining 11 American men will take action on Day 4.
An important day for teenagers
The fourth day of the U.S. Open will also focus on the next generation, with several young players acting. Joao Fonseca, Mirra Andreeva, Iva Jovic and Jakub Mensik will all be on the field to give fans a glimpse of the sport’s rising stars, as well as many exciting young talents to watch in Flushing Meadows.
The Philippines’ sensation Alexandra Eala and Indonesia’s Janice Tjen will also take action again, and everyone wants to make history for their country.
