Oppo launches “A5 Pro 5G” under Rs 18,000: View battery backup, AI features and more
Oppo A5 Pro 5G launches: Oppo, a Chinese company known for its budget-friendly smartphones, cameras and smart features, has launched a new model in its “A” series (Oppo A5 Pro 5G), with the flagship level at mid-range prices and officially launched on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

The smartphone has a 50MP rear camera, equipped with underwater photography mode as well as AI tools such as erasers, clarity enhancers and disassemblers.
Battery
The device is powered by a 5,800mAh battery that provides up to 16 hours of video playback and 8 hours of gaming.
It also supports 45W SuperVOOC flash charging, allowing the device to reach 30% charge in just 20 minutes. The phone runs on Coloros 15 and is expected to perform well.

The A5 Pro 5G integrates several AI-powered features such as writing assistants, automatic copying, voice recording summary and document summary, which can be particularly useful for students and professionals.

For areas without network connectivity (such as mountains, villages, or travel), Oppo introduced the Beacon Link feature, which enables one-to-one Bluetooth voice calls that can use a 205-meter range even without telecom signals.

The smartphone offers a variety of features, perfect for adventurers, students and work professionals. It includes “Splash Touch” and AI Linkboost to adapt it to different environments.
According to Oppo, the A5 Pro 5G can be used with wet hands and dusty roads and still maintains high signal strength.
Durability: Waterproof or splashproof?
The phone comes with IP69, IP68 and IP66 certifications to protect waterproof, dust and high pressure conditions.
“Backed by military-grade shock, reinforced glass and sponge bionic buffer, the A5 Pro 5G is one of the most durable phones in its class,” Oppo said.
“In addition to waterproofing and dustproofing, the military-grade shock-proof A5 Pro 5G is designed to endure the harshest conditions and has reinforced double glass, which increases landing resistance by 160 percent,” the company said.
According to Oppo, the device has been tested against 14 military standard (MIL-STD-810H-2022) conditions, including extreme temperatures, rainwater, dust, dust, salt spray and shock.
Price, color and availability
Oppo has launched the A5 Pro 5G in the domestic market, starting at Rs 17,999. It comes in two color options and variants like Mocha Brown and Feather Blue, with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The higher version is available for Rs 19,999.
