Philippines falls to near bottom at IMD’s World Talent Ranking 2025

The Philippines’ annual global rankings are in the global rankings of the ability to attract and retain skilled workforces, a report from the Center for Competitiveness shows.
In the 2025 IMD’s World Talent Ranking (WTR), the Philippines fell from 63 of 67 economies last year to 64 of 69 countries.
The Philippines’ talent competitiveness continues to lag behind its Asia-Pacific neighbors. It ranks 13th out of 14 Asia-Pacific countries, only better than Mongolia.
Hong Kong is the highest economy in the Asia-Pacific region as it ranks fourth in the IMD’s global talent index. Next is Singapore (7th) and Taiwan (17th).
The talent index is once again dominated by European economies led by Switzerland (whole), Luxembourg (second) and Iceland (third).
The WTR ranking is based on three factors: appeal, investment and development, and readiness. – Justin Ireland D. Table
