“National First”: Scindia supports traders to boycott Türkiye, Azerbaijan's Türkiye, support Pakistan

The day after Indian businessmen announced their boycott of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, Union Minister Jyotiradiatitya Scindia on Saturday expanded his full support for the move, saying it was a powerful expression of public sentiment.
“This is an emotional and voluntary decision made by the people and I bow before them. I fully support it.” He stressed that the interests of the country emerged first, adding that India's security and sovereignty will not compromise.
Traders fight back against “betrayal” in Türkiye and Azerbaijan
The minister's remarks were a major resolution adopted at the National Business People's Congress in Delhi on Thursday. 125 top business leaders from all over the country, under the banner of All India Merchant (CAIT), have unanimously decided to cut off all trade and commercial ties with Türkiye and Azerbaijan. This includes cessation of all imports and exports, as well as cessation of tourism and business travel.

The decision is an intensified support for the two countries in the heightened national security tensions in India.
“Turkey and Azerbaijan have benefited from India's goodwill and support. Their public support for Pakistan is the terrorism sponsor of terrorism and an insult to the 1.4 billion Indians,” said Praveen Khandelwal, secretary general and BJP MP.
No movies, no ads: Kate also calls for cultural boycott
Kate also urged Indian film industry and advertisers to stop filming or promoting content in Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Trade agencies warn that any such content will face boycotts from the trade community and the public.
Kate National President BC Bhartia responded to the sentiment and said the Indian trade community was “deeply hurtful and disappointed” with the hostile stance between the two countries. He added that no trade benefits should be provided to countries that do not respect India's long-term friendship.
Welcomes the government's recent move to revoke security permits from Turkish company Celebi Ground Wolking India Pvt Ltd, which operates at nine major airports, which Kate said was a bold and necessary step in national interest.
