PM Modi reviewed Rs 65,000 crore project at the 49th Pragati meeting, demanding faster execution

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chaired the 49th session of the center’s project monitoring digital platform Pragati on Wednesday, September 24, and he reviewed eight major infrastructure projects across mines, railways, water resources, industrial corridors and electricity. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, a notice issued by the News Information Bureau (PIB) has spanned 15 states and trade union territories, involving investments of more than Rs 6.5 crore.

Eight key projects under review

At a meeting in the southern region, PM Modi evaluated progress on projects officials called growth and public welfare crucial. Discussions focus on simplifying inter-agency coordination, identifying solid deadlines and addressing bottlenecks without delay.

Warning delay fees

The Prime Minister reiterated the concerns raised at the earlier Pragati meeting, warning of the “double cost” of delays in execution: higher project spending and refusal to get timely access to basic citizen services. He urged central and state officials to adopt a result-oriented approach to translate opportunities into tangible improvements in quality of life and business competitiveness.

The state urges strengthen supervision

PM Modi urged states and union territories to establish their own systems to track the progress of flagship projects, stressing that regular local reviews are key to avoiding delays. He said reforms to improve efficiency, competitiveness and innovation will allow India to respond to new opportunities faster.
