Who is Priya Nair, the first lady to lead the 92-year journey of Industan Unilever?

Priya Nair is a well-known name in Unilever’s circle and will now build the company’s history. By August 1, 2025, she will become the first female CEO and managing director of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), the largest fast-growing consumer goods (FMCG) company in India.
Nair is currently based in London and is responsible for the beauty and welfare division of Unilever, one of the company’s fastest growing businesses. Her appointment marks an important moment, not only Hul, but also Indian industry, where Indian leadership remains biased towards men.
After obtaining B.com from Sydenham College, she further pursued the executive leadership program at Harvard. She currently lives in London with her husband and daughter; she has served as an independent director on the board of directors of Indian companies. The member is also associated with industry agencies such as ASCI and several government groups.

30-year journey from sales
Priya Nair joined HUL in 1995 until she received her marketing degree from the Institute of Symbiosis in Pune. Starting with her sales and brand management roles, she continues to build and expand some of the most iconic HUL brands – from Dove and Rin to Comfort. She is also the brain behind award-winning professional leadership marketing campaigns.
Over the past few decades, in India and around the world, her roles have spanned home care, personal care, and beauty and well-being.
