Police say

A man was killed by a pair of bulldogs in a backyard attack in Lancaster on Saturday night.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the phone at around 10:30 p.m., reporting an animal attack on East 22nd Street. Deputy Maria Lucero said when authorities arrived they found a man bleeding at home.

The dog that attacked him blocked the entrance to the yard, blocking representatives and paramedics from helping the men.

Lucerro said a deputy killed one of the bulldogs and allowed paramedics to come in. The man was taken to the hospital and died.

The victim’s identity has not been released yet. It is not clear whether he lives at home or is visiting.

Los Angeles County Animal Control took four other dogs from the property. It is not clear what happens to dogs. No one was arrested for the incident.
