Polish leader warns of conflict with Russia by 2027
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Saturday that by 2027, Europe and Poland should be prepared for a major conflict with Russia.
He said his government will make the best use of the situation in Poland and ensure security over the next two years, according to the News Agency report.
The Prime Minister mentioned a similar assessment by new NATO top commander Alexander Grynkewich, whom he spoke to soon. According to this assessment, by 2027, Russia and China may become strong enough to seek a coordinated confrontation with NATO and the United States.
Given the Russian war against Ukraine, Western military experts have circulated a range of possible situations when other European countries face aggression. 2027 is the earliest estimate mentioned. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in 2029.
EU states are escalating and aim to repel Russian attacks by 2030.
Russia is also expanding its armed forces. But Moscow leaders dismissed the idea of NATO territory and would be attacked as nonsense.
Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda recently recounts accusing NATO of planning to attack Russia in 2027.
During the full-scale invasion launched by the Kremlin in 2022, Russia continues to attack Ukraine every day.
